Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Muscat

Once arriving at Muscat International Airport, your English-speaking driver guide will pick you up on time and transfer you to the hotel. After some hours of rest, the tour will start with a visit to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, which was built to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the reign of Sultan Qaboos. ** Note 1: To enter the Grand Mosque, women's whole bodies should be covered by clothes, and a headscarf should be worn. Men are not allowed to wear shorts. **Note 2: Lunch is self-paid. Then visit the Bait Zubair Museum and Al Alam Palace. Before returning to the hotel, we'll go to the Mutrah bazaar. Day 2: Explore Sur in depth

It's time to depart Muscat towards the southern parts of Oman to visit the turtle nesting site (2.5 hours road trip). On the way, You will visit Bimmah sinkhole and Finn Beach. Enjoy lunch by yourself. Then we will drive to Sur and pass by a beautiful Wadi Tiwi village. After checking in, we will visit the sea turtle reserve Raz Al Jinz. Day 3: Sur to Wahiba Sands

After a short visit to Sur which is famed as a beautiful port city. First of all, we will visit the Dhow building factory to see the process of building a ship. There is also a museum in the factory. You can also visit it if you are interested. After lunch, we will head to the Wahiba Sands. A picturesque oasis Wadi Bani Khalid on the way, will impress you. Day 4: Wahiba sands to Nizwa

We are getting up to see the sunrise over the untouched sand dunes, stretching as far as the eye can see. After breakfast, it's time to enjoy the most of the desert by doing any desired desert activities like camel riding, and then leaving the desert behind towards the ancient Nizwa (2hrs), famous for its C17th fort, which we explore before a relaxing dinner in this beautiful town. Day 5: Nizwa to Jabel Shams

Once finishing breakfast and out of the hotel, it's time to drive two hours to the historic city of Nizwa. There is the spectacular Nizwa Fort built in the 17th century and a bustling outdoor market. You will also visit an impressive Jabreen Castle in Jabrin, where the exquisite wood-carved ceiling shows the builder's extraordinary technique and artistic creativity. Then you will take a short stop at the World Heritage Site Bahla Fort. Lunch will be self-paid. Then, we will continue driving to the Jebel Shams for two hours, showcasing the spectacular mountain scenery. In the end, you'll be taken to the hotel in Jebel Shams. Day 6: Jabel Shams to Al Hamra

Jebel Shams, at an altitude of more than 3,000 meters, is one of the highest points in the eastern Arabian Peninsula. These mountains are often called the Grand Canyon of Oman, stretching 700 kilometers. Many beautiful and secluded valleys and fertile oases are scattered over the mountains. You will walk along the canyon's edge this morning while enjoying the beautiful scenery. Then you will join your driver guide for an hour to visit the beautiful hillside town of Misfah and the ancient village of Al Hamra. Meals: Breakfast Accommodation: Shorfet Alalamin 2 stars

Day 7: Snake Canyon, Bilad Sait & Muscat

Driving to Wadi Bani Auf (2hrs 15m), aka Snake Canyon, takes us via Al Hamra, along one of the most famous off-road journeys in the country, known for its spectacular views. We will not do any Wadi Bashing but will pause to wander, dip a toe / do some wading if we fancy it. Just an hours drive takes us from Wadi Bani Auf to another charming and picturesque village, Bilad Sait, where we can take a walk and enjoy lunch. Nestled at the base of the Hajar Mountain range. In the late afternoon, we encounter more of the stunning scenery as we head back to Muscat (a 2.5hr drive) and the hotel. Meals: Breakfast Accommodation: Muscat Inn Hotel 2 stars

Day 8: Daymaniyat Islands

The archipelago of 9 protected Daymaniyat islands lie around 18km off the coast of Muscat. Lying totally within a Nature Reserve, they are home to an incredible abundance of marine and bird life. The crystal clear waters have ensured the areas popularity with divers and snorkelers, appreciating some of the most beautiful corals and fish that are to be found in the Middle East. Day 9: Muscat

Depending on your departure time, enjoy some free time by yourself. Shop handmade souvenirs and have one last Omani coffee with dates! When it’s time to leave, a driver drops you off at Muscat International Airport to catch your flight. Meal: Breakfast
